Build up to the First Show
We flew to Wisconsin to shoot the first performance of the Madison Scouts and more importantly the build up to this important event. These young men have been working very hard to learn the field show that will bring Scouts’ fans to their feet. Well I’m happy to report that they did that. Their first show (and home show, “Drums on Parade”) did not disappoint.
We captured some special moments with our guard member, Jo and also with Hunter, the 15 year old, trumpet player. Not only was this Hunter’s first performance with the Scouts, but this was his first drum corps show ever. Drum corps was a foreign term to him a year ago. Not only was he smiling from ear to ear, but his father and brother flew in from Corpus Christi to see his first show.
Another highlight was a tradition at the alumni tailgate prior to the Madison show when the current members sing the corps song “Never Walk Alone” with nearly one hundred alums. What a magical moment.
This season will be a memorable one. We are thrilled to be following the Scouts during a season that won’t be forgotten any time soon.
